Pastor Battle’s major emphasis in ministry is centered on lifting up, building out, and developing the human soul. He is an “all-in” and hands-on Pastor. He operates on the basis of two themes. The first one is to show respect by valuing every human being and the other is to show love unconditionally. His trademark is “caring” for people first and foremost.
With 12 years of playing professional basketball for the NBA and subsequently retiring, he values and knows first-hand how to galvanize diverse energies and backgrounds of people to produce winning outcomes. Pastor has used his myriad experiences in life, on and off the court, to reach people by creating a unique style that compels people to view ministry non-traditionally and get them involved in kingdom building (doing everything in love) in a refreshing and exciting way.
Pastor Battle moves in ministry with a special kindness. His “heart” for the people is rooted in his certainty and reflected in his transparency to be a “Good Shepherd”. He intensely listens to the people and his actions demonstrate that he not only listens but he hears.
Pastor Battle is to be highly commended on the ease in which he started a new wave ‘Word on the
Go’ Group Conference Ministry for 6 years strong and forged a unique “sister-church” relationship
between the two different churches he pastors. He respectfully supports the differences in their
community identities, focuses, cultures, and partnerships, as they work jointly in various ministry
engagements.
Pastor’s belief that a church must have a strong Christian education foundation can be viewed in
ministries at both churches. While he is committed to developing a solid knowledge base for his
congregations, he has worked to show himself approved to rightly divide the Word of God.
In May 2010, Pastor graduated from Beulah Heights University with his Masters in Biblical Studies and in
May 2014, he completed the Masters of Divinity at ITC (Interdenominational Theological Center) both in
Atlanta, Georgia. He is also currently attending United Theological Seminary of Dayton Ohio, where he is
scheduled to graduate in May 2018 with a Doctor of Theology degree.
Pastor’s teaching style provides a gateway to gain clarity and practical understanding, as well as allow for
immediate application of the Word to one’s daily life. His enthusiasm and animated delivery style continues
on a weekly basis to draw many people to accept Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord & Savior.
