“...how shall they hear without a preacher.” “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:14c, 15 KJV)
The founding Pastor and "Chief Elder"of Spread the Word Church Ministries, Dr. Charles H. Jackson, Sr., was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He received his primary education in Columbus, Ohio and later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he graduated from the scholars program of Overbrook High School in 1987.
On July 4,1985, Pastor Jackson heard the clear call of God to preach as a youth while attending a Youth Conference in Buffalo, NY. A couple of years later on July 19, 1987, Pastor Jackson officially began his ministerial journey by preaching his initial sermon in Philadelphia. He returned to Atlanta to attend Morehouse College and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Religion and Philosophy.
As a nineteen year old sophomore at Morehouse College, Pastor Jackson organized and began our church in Metro Atlanta. On February 19, 1989, five members joined during our first worship service in the Booker T. Washington High School Auditorium (our first of several temporary locations). The Church has grown and developed over the years into a body of believers committed to Spreading the Word of God, Seeking and helping to bring to salvation those who are lost, and empowering the saved to achieve the abundant life in Christ Jesus. (John 10:10)
In May of 1995, Pastor Jackson graduated and received his Master’s of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center (I.T.C.) in Atlanta, Georgia and in May of 2008, Pastor Jackson earned his Doctor of Ministry Degree from the I.T.C.
Throughout the years, Pastor Jackson has helped many to “hear”, understand and live the Word of God through his anointed teaching and preaching of the gospel. It is his hearts desire that every time he preaches, someone would receive the inspiration and information they need to live a more abundant life in Christ Jesus. Indeed, “how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
